It must be some kind of a record. After all how long does it take to sell a property? If you are Larry Dean you will say 16 years. Yes that is how long it has taken him to sell his mega mansion which is popularly known as Dean Gardens. Even the drop in the price must be a record. Have you ever heard of an eighty per cent discount offered in real estate? Larry Dean had originally listed the property for $40 million. And it was finally sold for $7.6 million, a drop of over $32 million. No doubt Larry said “The buyer basically stole the house.â€
When you look at the house closely you will realize why it was a steal at $7.6 million. Situated in Johns Creek just outside Atlanta the house has a Moroccan theatre, 24 carat gold sinks, 15 bedrooms and an 18 hole golf course.
The estate costs $1.5 million a year in upkeep and had cost Dean $30 million to make. Just after two years of building it Dean wanted to sell it but couldn’t. He had to climb down substantially from his asking price to finally find a buyer. Entertainment tycoon Tyler Perry has bought the property who will tear it down to build a new house on the estate.
