Cygnet, the Compact Luxury Car With a Personality by Aston Martin

Aston Martin has created a solution for the city without compromising on the luxury and individuality. It is named the Cygnet and is primarily based on Toyota’s iQ whose basic variant costs as little as £10,228. The Cygnet, though which has been substantially redesigned inside and out by Aston’s styling team, with all-new body panels, for instance is expected to cost from £30,000 and upwards.

The Cygnet will be powered by Toyota’s 1.33-litre engine but Aston says that everything the customer sees and feels will be unique. Dr Ulrich Bez the CEO of Aston Martin said that it is time to be different  but we will always remain honest and not make any compromise. Our customers need a small car for urban and city use, and they want the right tools for the right job, to downsize creatively without compromising intelligence, artistry and personality.

The Cygnet is a very special car, a premium but compact package with a heart, soul and personality. The Cygnet will go into production next summer, and will go on sale later in 2011. It will be the eighth production car Aston Martin has introduced at its Gaydon HQ since 2004. Since only 4000 units will be made in the first year it will primarily be sold to existing Aston Martin owners.
