The Italian luxury brand Montegrappa is known as one of the finest writing instruments manufacturers and have made some of the most expensive pens. Their design team is consistently coming up with commemorative designs that celebrate special occasions. China has lately become the focus market for most of the luxury brands and special designs are created aimed to satisfy the Chinese cultural sensibilities. Montegrappa had earlier presented an elaborate Centennial Dragon collection of luxury writing instruments and have now unveiled the Montegrappa Snake 2013 Limited Edition Writing Instruments. The exclusive design has been inspired by the Chinese Horoscope sign. The pen has been crafted out of sterling silver and finished in dark red celluloid.
Snake Has Been Carved Out of Semi Precious Stone Carnelian
Montegrappa is Italy’s oldest manufacturer of fine writing instruments and has very successfully leveraged modern manufacturing technology with classic design. Their latest design is also a bold and powerful statement and embodies the horoscope sign that the Chinese revere. The snake in the limited edition design has been superimposed on the pen as a die-cast overlay. These decorative overlays have a stunning impact. The overlay has been finished with a specialdeep red-brown hue of pearlised resin called ‘Pietra’ work with metalwork. Semi precious stone Carnelian has been used to carve out the snake. The color matches perfectly the cap and the barrel.
Only 888 Pieces in Sterling Silver and 88 Pieces in Gold Will be Produced
Snake has a special place in the Chinese horoscope as it is considered the symbol of wealth and good luck. The fountain pen features an ebonite feeder, an 18 karat gold nib and a piston filling system. The limited edition design will have a production run of only 888 fountain pens and 888 roller ball pens crafted out of sterling silver. The same design will also be created in 18 karat gold but only 88 pieces each of fountain pen and roller ball pen will be made. Each piece produced will be individually numbered and presented in an elegant wooden box specially designed for the pen. The design is ready for production and the luxury writing instruments should become available in the near future but the pricing of the new design has not been declared as yet.
