Concept Cars From Bertone Museum Up For Auction At Villa D’Este

The Bertone Museum in Italy is undergoing major restructuring. As a result, the Italian museum’s entire collection will soon be going under the hammer. This includes a range of concept cars that automobile collectors would give their right hands for. RM Auctions will be conducting the proceedings. And the venue chosen is the fitting Villa d’Este. For those who do not know, Villa d’Este is the place where the famous annual Concorsa d’Eleganza is held. A bevy of classic and concept cars are showcased at the Concorsa d’Eleganza each year.

This year, in a first for the auction house, RM Auctions will be holding the Bertone Museum automobile auction at this open-air venue. Look out for some classic cars at this auction. Vehicles like the 1964 Alfa Romeo TZ Coupe, the 1955 Bentley R-Type Continental Coupe and the 1965 Ford GT40 Works Prototype Roadster will be up for sale. However, the USP of this upcoming auction is the presence of six concept cars from the Bertone Museum collection.

These unique concept cars include the 1967 Lamborghini Marzal, the 1970 Lancia Stratos HF Zero, the 1963 Chevrolet Testudo, the 1974 Lamborghini Bravo, the 1980 Lamborghini Athon and the 1978 Lancia Sibilo. Serious car collectors are likely to cough up sums of around six and seven figures in a bid to claim ownership of these collectors’ items on wheels.

Of the lot, the Marzal, which drove Prince Ranier and Princess Grace at the 1967 Monaco Grand Prix, and the Stratos (a prototype of the later supercar of the same name) are likely to fetch nearly $2.5 million each. For now, all eyes are on these wheels.
