Christie’s Green Auction campaign in just three years has acquired the status of being a prestigious charity event. The annual event has got the support of global fashion designers and labels that has helped the event generate considerable amount of money to support initiatives to save the world by conserving our environment. This year Bottega Veneta has come forward to support the event and their custom made handbag could become the centre of attraction at the auctions. The dazzling event is scheduled to take place this month itself at the New York City’s Rockefeller Center.
The event that celebrates the artistic genius of celebrated designers is a perfect blend of glamour and social consciousness. International collectors, philanthropists and fashionistas all converge for the event for some exciting action at the live auction. Bottega Veneta hasn’t actually created a bag as yet but the successful bidder at the auction will get to choose from their wide range of handbags and decide on its shape, skin textures and choice of colors. Bottega Veneta will then hand craft the bespoke bag as per the preferences and specifications of the bidder.
Bottega Veneta has often done it in the past. They have successfully matched their designs to personal whims of it clients even going to the extent of matching the skin tone of the Bottega handbag with the client’s preferred lipstick color. This offer which would be valid through the year is not meant to be clubbed with any other offer or discounts. Bottega Veneta has now diversified into creating custom made wedding dresses and leather wall paneling as well.
Christie’s Green Auction is all set to generate a handsome amount this year as well. Last year the event had managed to garner almost $2.4 million which was given to global non-profit organizations such Oceana, Natural Resources Defense Council, Central Park Conservancy and Conservation International.
