One of the biggest and foremost manufacturers of luxury SUVs, Britain based Land Rover expanded its vehicle portfolio with the introduction of the all new Range Rover Autobiography Ultimate Edition. Showcased at the prestigious 2011 Geneva Motor Show last year, the Autobiography Ultimate Edition was designed and developed to maintain the company’s dominant presence in the international markets, where other luxury marque brands such as the likes of Bentley and Lamborghini have already stated their plans to bringing in their own exclusive SUVs, this upping the ante. The Autobiography Ultimate Edition was introduced in a limited edition format, where in only 500 examples were produced with a price tag of $80,000. Still, with the high profile brand name of Land Rover, the SUV was able to attract a lot of attention and the company managed to sell all 500 models. This proved to be a restatement to the rising trend of luxury SUV demand, which is expected to heighten as other companies bring out their own creations.
The Land Rover Range Rover Autobiography Ultimate Edition is powered by a 4.4-liter turbodiesel V-8 engines, while the customers in the U.S were also offered with an option of a 5.0-liter supercharged V-8 power plant. The engine of the new Range Rover produces an impressive 309 horsepower that provides the SUV with a top speed of 130 mph, while the SUV can make a sprint from 0 to 60 mph in just 7.5 seconds. However, the crème of the Autobiography Ultimate Edition lies in the interiors of the luxury SUV, where in the customers were provided with the state of the art feature of Apple iPad connectivity. This particular featured proved to be the first for a SUV, where in passengers could easily plug in their iPad tablets into the driver’s and front passenger’s headrests.
Furthermore, the rear seats of the SUV were replaced by comfortable bucket seats that came with a revamped center console and the interiors of the Autobiography Ultimate Edition also boasted of aluminum, wood and leather trims. The sale of this magnificent luxury Range Rover will commence in the first quarter of 2012.
