All you Bob Dylan’s fans out there, pay heed to this one. Christie’s is auctioning off a handwritten poem by the legendary singer. Belonging to his teen years, the item is quiet a catch except for Dylan’s handwriting which isn’t particularly clear. However, we do know for a fact that it will not deter the true admirers of his.
Music experts reveal that this ‘poem’ seems to be inspired by the sing ‘Little Buddy’ by Canadian singer Hank Snow. Apparently, a Reuters reader has been credited for this discovery which was later confirmed by others.
Dylan is believed to have written this piece when away at a Jewish camp when he was 16. He in fact submitted it to the camp newspaper and the editor kept this piece safe for more than half a century and then donated it to Herzl Camp in Wisconsin recently. So far, this one is the oldest Dylan manuscript, which is why it is expected to bring in anything between $10,000 and $15,000. It will be up at Pop Culture auction on June 23.
