Apple Devices Now Control Luxury Homes In Central Arizona

Having worked its way into the hearts and lives of millions across the world, Apple is now moving into luxury homes. A residential community in Scottsdale, Central Arizona has adopted a new, state-of-the-art home automation system by integrating Apple devices in each home. In doing so, these luxury residences will be the first such property in Arizona to go the Apple way. The residential community in question is called The Village at Paradise Reserve. And the Apple-based home automation system is being provided and installed by home computerization systems firm Savant. The integration of Apple devices in the home automation systems at this luxury property is part of a joint venture between Cyber Sound, and the property’s developers Cullum Homes.

Homes on the luxury estate will come fitted with in-wall and wireless iPads, iPods and iPhones which will help operate the entire home. To elaborate, the Apple devices that are part of this home automation system will allow for Internet activity while providing climate control as well as controlling lights, window shades, audio, the home theatre and security. The Apple-to-Apple home automation system uses a Mac operating system. Savant’s home automation technology using Apple devices is the only one to use a Mac OS. Most other providers go with a PC or some other form of hardware to boost the iPad devices.

Apparently, this Apple-powered home automation system considerably lowers the operation costs of homes on this luxury estate. The custom touch panels generally used by luxury real estate residences are expensive. Just the hardware could set you back by some $3,800. Compared to that sum, iPads and iPods are relatively inexpensive. Each iPad costs around $499. Moreover, you can choose what kind of apps you require. The new system also reduces programming time by fifty percent.

Rod Cullum, founder and president of Cullum Homes described the new technology as stunning. We can’t help agreeing. The new home automation system allows users to control their home simply by flipping through images of their home on the iPad. Given that most users are familiar with the iPad by now, using the device is a piece of cake. All you have to do is open a picture of a room in the home. Then, if you want to turn on the TV, touch the TV in the picture. Or if you want to switch of a light, touch the light fixture in the picture. The possibilities are endless. From turning off forgotten lights to creating a security alarm, the home automation system from Savant is incredible. No wonder the company won Electronic House magazine’s 2011 Product of the Year award.

If you happen to be scouting for luxury houses for sale, there are still several properties available in The Village at Paradise Reserve. The homes here are between 3,321 and 5,593 square feet of space and the current prices range from $1.5 million to $2 million. So unless you are specifically looking for something like New York luxury real estate and aren’t willing to budge, these hi-tech Arizona homes offer a fantastic deal.
