Tuscany, Italy, a place globally renowned for its rich heritage and a breathtaking beauty is also famous across the U.K, as the preferred choice of retreat for former British Prime Minister, Tony Blair and as one of the most prominent holiday destination in Europe. An eighteenth century luxury villa in Tuscany that was also occupied by Mr. Blair has reportedly been taken on rent by current British PM, David Cameron to spend holidays with his family. The Tuscany villa in the spotlight originally belongs to the renowned winemaker, Lucia Sanjust Bazzocchi who is globally known for her delicious wines that are produced from Sangiovese and Merlot grapes from 77 acres of vines and has been one of leading luxury on rent properties in the region. The villa usually rents out for $15,722 a week, while Mr. Cameron will be sharing the cost of the rental with three other families, thereby paying only $9,469 a week.

As per the itinerary of Prime Minister Cameron issued by Downing Street, the PM is said to have paid the market rental for the villa without any discounts and that he and his family will be travelling to Tuscany via a budget airline. This magnificent villa located on the Petrolo estate features a swimming pool, tennis court and a billiards room, along with a host of picturesque lakes, where the guests can spend some quality time indulging in the art of fishing. The villa dates back to the time period between 1700 and 1750, while sporting exquisite antiques that adorn its interiors, as well as a collection of vintage and modern paintings. The villa is surrounded by celebrity neighbors such as the likes of award winning musician, Sting, who owns a luxurious estate along with his wife Trudie Style. Mr. Cameron will be accompanied by his wife and three children on this much awaited and deserved luxury vacation.

According to the Villa Website,

“The Petrolo Estate is situated among the green olive groves, active vineyards and beautiful oak woods. A place full of charm and history. The estate has as its landmark, the Tower of Galatrona. The Tower’s foundation dates back to the Etruscan and Romans and the Estate’s best wines are named ‘Torrione’ (big tower) and ‘Galatrona’.”
