$148,000 Terrafugia Transition to Fly in 2008

New models and entrants aim to give a lively feel to the Flying Car industry. Following the experiences of Super Sky Cycle, Moller’s M200G Volantor, Urban Aeronautics’ X-Hawk and on-going production of PAL-V flying car, the upcoming model in the queue is the Terrafugia Transition flying car. It’s been two-years that this flying car has created a buzz in the minds of the travelers’ but now their curiosity can be calmed down in next year. Lately, a team of MIT alums featured its folding wing at the annual AirVenture aviation festival in Oshkosh, WI.

This light-weighted sport aircraft performed to the expectations of the engineers as it opened and closed over 500 times. This can be seen as a hope for the MIT scientists towards the success of the aero-auto hybrid vehicles, thereby offering an answer to the present problems. The next challenge before the team is the construction of a powerful engine to support the flying of $1,48,000 Terrafugia Transition on the ground and in the air as well.
