14-Storey Building Elevator Bathed in Swatch Watches

What could be a safe and assured publicity stunt anticipating not only timely visits by customers but their retention? Brand Promotion! It’s a heavy word but how? Nothing great can click the witty mind if considered the latest advertising trick of donning the elevator of a mall positioned in Ginza district with Swatch Watches.

Named after Swatch Group’s chairman Nicolas G. Hayek, the architect of this tall 14-storey building was done by Japanese architect Shigeru Ban at an investment (expenditure) of 150 million Swiss francs ($185 million). Under this single umbrella resides countless high-end boutiques viz. Jacquet Droz, Omega, Leon Hatot, Breguet and Swatch.

Deviating from his personae of delivering eco-friendly designs, the designer carved a glass elevator for each brand, inviting customers up to each boutique. The building also flaunts gold watches in Breguet’s elevator with Leon Hatot’s jewelry enclosed on black velvet.
