W Hotels Worldwide has positioned itself as a brand for a new generation of luxury traveler and has developed its properties and services accordingly. They have expanded rapidly and have recently opened their 45th location with the imposing W Verbier Hotel & Residences. It is their first property in Switzerland and more importantly it is their first ever ski resort. It is a direct contrast to a large indoor ski resort. Frits van Paasschen, CEO and president of Starwood Hotels and Resorts Worldwide admits that W Hotels has made a great impact on the hotel industry as a whole. In 15 years of their existence they have changed the hospitality landscape. Every new hotel they open goes on to create a new category.
The Resort Has Direct access to Verbier Cable Car
W Verbier has been designed as Swiss style ski house. In fact, the resort is made up of four such houses that feature a total of 123 rooms. Located in the Medran area of Verbier, the housed are built from wood. The location of the resort is convenient for skiers as it situated at the base of a mountain and is directly next to the Verbier Cable Car. It provides the guests direct access to approximately 256 miles of runs and free-riding terrain. It is a beautiful terrain rising to altitudes of 11,000 feet and apart from world class skiing trails it offers several scenic trails for hiking or biking. Golf enthusiasts also have access to two different 18-hole golf courses located nearby.
Each Room Has its Own Balcony and Fireplace
The rooms in the new W resort feature the signature W bed. The unique feature of W Verbier is that every room has its own balcony and fireplace. The resort boasts of an indoor as well as an outdoor pool along with a well equipped modern fitness center. There is a spa to relax after a tiring day on the ski trail. And finally the guests can dine on fine cuisine at the Arola Restaurant which serves food from a menu designed by two-time Michelin star Chef Sergi Arola. W Hotels new resort defines the future forward approach of the brand that is known for its contemporary attitude and modern style. They have adapted well to the new golden age of luxury travel.
