Two mansions in USA, the Goldwood House and the Rose Terrace are joining the elite league of multimillion dollar homes as well as biggest single family homes. The Goldwood House, is one expensive home with a price tag of a whopping $100 million! It has been inspired by the infamous Lynnewood Hall mansion in Elkins Park, PA that has been embroiled in legal battles since time immemorial. This Neo-Classical style abode is spread across an eye-popping 107,000 square feet! The Rose Terrace on the other hand occupies 65,000 square feet, looking modest in Goldwood House’s comparison.
But you must be wondering why you are hearing about these houses for the first time? Well, that is because they haven’t been built yet. Finland based Michael Frilund, the developer of the project saw inspiration in billionaire Ira Rennert’s $200 million Fair Field mansion and thought that there could be a market for mega projects of the same scale in some expensive city. The unusual bit here is that he is not fronting the cash for the construction of these two properties. Instead, he is selling the blueprints for the two houses (not the land) but with a team in place to make those blueprints come alive. That seems to be a clever idea considering the number of properties that are gathering dust waiting for a billionaire owner.
The architect of the two mansions is William Hablinski, the mind brain behind Russian billionaire Yuri Milner’s $100 million Silicon Valley home. The interior design and some furniture will be provided by David Linley, chairman of Christie’s. Lauri McNevin is the real estate agent trying to sell the blueprints to agents of billionaires or people with huge tracts of land who might be interested in getting these mansions built on it. She is mostly focussing on Russian, Chinese and Singaporean billionaires and multimillionaires. Let us see if their search reaches fruition.
