Transformers director Michael Bay had built a home just outside of Santa Barbara. He had put in as much care and effort in making the home as he had put in creating the action flick. He has listed the home in Montecito, California for sale for an asking price of $6.8 million. It is an ultra modern home designed by the award winning Santa Barbara architect Jan Hochhauser. He must be proud of his design as it is amongst his best works. The contemporary home is situated around a central pool and is spread on 1.3 acre lot.
The design of the home has been a topic for discussion and was featured in California Homes magazine as early as 2002. The luxurious home features four bedrooms and four bathrooms. The highlight of the house that makes it different from other contemporary homes is the soaring two story living space which is at the centre of the home. The double-height atrium with a glass barrel-vaulted ceiling allows plenty of sunlight and makes the house really lively and grand. In fact there are tons of skylights around the house that keeps the house well lit through the day.
The house boasts of some seriously beautiful mountain, ocean and island views. All the ocean facing rooms have large picture windows to enhance the view. The kitchen and dining area is directly accessible from the yard and infinity pool. The pool is surrounded by a patio which also features a fire pit. The house has a total of 5,400 square feet of living space. It is a gated property that provides garage space for three cars. Bay also has a property at Miami Beach which he bought from Hulk Hogan, the renowned wrestler who has made a career as a Reality star.
