Andrey Melnichenko Buys A Manhattan Penthouse For His Beloved For $12.2 Million


The saying, “Love means no bounds”, has yet again been proven correct by the Russian billionaire, Andrey Melnichenko, who as per reports has now purchased a penthouse known as, Pied-à-Terre in the upscale Central Park, Manhattan region for a whopping $12.2 million. This marvelous two room penthouse is located at 110 Central Park South and is measured to be 2,800-square-foot in all, sporting an entrance galley, along with a 24 foot celling. The penthouse housed in a 28 story apartment comes with two balconies and provides a magnificent view of the immensely popular Central Park from each of the rooms, facing north.

Andrey Melnichenko, the billionaire who made a fortune in in fertilizer and banking, is also closely associated with a coal an energy enterprise and is known to have acquired similar expensive properties in numerous countries such as Moscow, France and the U.K. estimated to have a total assets worth $4.4 billion, Mr. Melnichenko, shocked the world last year, when he bought his personal yacht, ‘A’ for a whopping $300 million. The yacht that is shaped like a submarine, was designed by one other than the famed artist, Philippe Starck and comes with an assortment of features including bomb-proof glass, three pools and  the yacht can accommodate a crew of at least 35. His recent property acquisition in the form of the Manhattan penthouse, has been estimated to be sold at $4,200 a square foot and the penthouse is in very close proximity to The Plaza and the Time Warner Center. The apartment building housing the $12.2 million penthouse is said to have been the earlier home to the Ritz Carlton Hotel as well as an Intercontinental Hotel.
