Model Naomi Campbell and sports car maker Lotus have tied up for charity to Haiti earthquake victims under the banner `Naomi for Haiti’ through Limited Edition cars. With this, Naomi joins the slew of celebrities who have come forward to help disaster struck Haiti that saw one of the most devastating of earthquakes in recent times.
Lotus Design Director Donato Coco has designed the Naomi for Haiti Evora sports car.
The car’s styling indeed combines the flag of Haiti with a dramatic colour scheme and the car includes a full range of options. Lotus Evora – the enviable and multi-award winning, high performance, mid-engined sports car is what gets opened for bidding. Reports say `Naomi for Haiti’ Evoras will be auctioned at Naomi Campbell’s Fashion for Relief TM charity fashion show on February 18 at London Fashion Week venue at Somerset House.
The rest of Evoras will be entered into an online auction on the website www.naomiforhaiti.com, for which bidding begins at 0800 GMT on February 19. It ends at 1200 noon GMT on February 28, 2010. Every one of the eight cars that go under hammer gets a customized paint done by Campbell and Lotus, sporting the Haitian flag and special interior besides the other options. One hopes that more firms and celebrities join the aid bandwagon.
