swarovski-octea-watch Swarovski Creates Its Own Octea Sport Watch

Finally, Swarovski has gone ahead and released its own line of luxury watches. We think the brand must have been tired of beautifying stuff for other people and so thought of doing some magic of its own. The men might just feel left out because the Swaorvksi Octea Sport has been designed keeping the pretty ladies in mind. The steel case is 39mm wide, so if you are metrosexual then it shouldnt really be of any hassle to you.

The original watch idea was conceptualised in white but there are other colors too like dark blue, magenta, black and pink. And you definitely will not be alone if you say that the watch is seemingly similar to theChanel J12 line for these too are light and functional. But there are significant differences too. As you know, the J12 version’s in ceramic but the Octea Sport is full of Swarovski crystals all over its face and strap. We especially like the cut of crystals used.

chanel1 Chanel Goes Biking Around For Brand Promotion

Top fashion houses like Chanel find unique ways to make their presence felt. Just a few months ago, the brand gave us an ultra-fashionable concept car and now there is another one for the road. A custom mobike has been commissioned for a special photo shoot at the Rue Royale Boutique in Paris. Participating in this event were the kingpin of the label Karl Lagerfeld and the very sexy models Lara Stone and Baptiste Giacobini.

We are told that the bike is reminiscent of the one that legend Marlon Brnado drove in The Wild One. And it was custom made in Tolouse, France as per the instructions given by Lagerfield who is already a big name because of his wacky creative ideas.

chanel Chanel Does A See Through Cassette Purse For Music Lovers

See through purses might be big with teenage girls trying too hard to be trendy in Japan, but the faux pas might just be acceptable to the rest of the world when backed by a brand as big as Chanel. The fashion house has just launced a handbag shaped like a cassette with the name ‘Chanel’ scrawled on the front and the back.

Not just that, the little metal chain hooked on the purse makes it easy to carry. Though we seriously wonder about the inspiration behind the design. The promotional picture has a headless model dressed to the tune of Michael Jackson. Now, is that a genuine coincidence or should we be reading between the lines!

The bizarre has a very strong possibility of being passed on as fashionable, well, haven’t we already established that so many times before! Kar Lagerfield has designed a briefcase that we really doubt you’d carry down the road but the unique thinking definitely deserves a special mention on this blog.

The briefcase in reference is called Chanel Perspex and has been created as a part of the black take on power suiting for Chanel this week in Paris. Apparently, the briefcase is a highlight. Designed for the fashionable woman, the transparent structure comes with several slots to holds a purse, lipstick, sunglasses, iPod and other ladies’ must-have stuffs. But be prepared for no privacy as the world will be able to see all that’s inside.

Chanel Mobile Museum
Zaha Hadid is an established name for discovering designs but her latest creation for Chanel can be seen as an icing on the cake. The Chanel fashionable Art urn was developed with a portable feature so that it can display work of work from one city to another. Offering an appeal of an alien spaceship, it sports exhibits resembling Yoko Ono (presenting an interactive Wish Tree), Michael Li, Loris Cecchini, and photographers Stephen Shore and Nobuyoshi Araki. Having debuted in Hong Kong, it gold sold off in Tokyo (where it is still open for devotees until 4 June).

Word is around that it would mark an entry in New York by October and is anticipated to hit London and Moscow in 2009, and Paris in 2010. Check out Chanels’ Mobile Art website here.

Elite Find of the Day: Karl Lagerfeld’s Chanel $20,000 Fly-Fishing Rod

Chanel Fly-Fishing Rod

The history of Karl Lagerfeld and Chanel engaged in production of World’s most outrageous and high-priced sporting goods dates back to ages. Having witnessed the Chanel snowboard with trompe l’oeil “quilting” followed by £1,235 Chanel skis utilized by Victoria Beckham in 2004. And the latest falling in number is Chanel bicycle, a pink Chanel tennis racket fixed with tennis balls. And updating its profile today stands $20,000 fly fishing rod (thanks to Lagerfeld for keeping the forte up) inviting the richie-rich daddy. The Chanel rod is scrupulously tied with monochrome Chanel flies and renowned “double C” logo on its gossamer wings. The flying rod comes packed in a quilted black leather box.

P.S.: The seemingly budding relation of Chanel with the sport of fly fishing is ages old as the fashion house’s founder, Coco Chanel, was a devoted angler who whet her skills while dating the Duke of Westminster in the 20s.
