Men’s Fashion Week Debuts In Singapore On 30 March

New York, Paris, London and Milan continue to be the big cities of the fashion industry. The just-concluded Paris Fashion Week grabbed plenty of eyeballs. However, they are no longer the sole fashion hubs of the world. Recently, Chloe conducted its first online runway show in China. Now, Singapore is fast emerging as a fashion destination. And the city is set to cement its place in the fashion world for it will soon be hosting the first ever Men’s Fashion Week.

The big fashion event is scheduled to begin from 30 March and carry on until 3 April. Playing venue is Singapore’s glamorous resort, the Marina Bay Sands. Gorgeous male models will walk down the fashion week ramp in Autumn-Winter collections designed by 15 designer labels. This includes Asian designers and big international brands including Boss Black by Hugo Boss, Shanghai Tang, Japan’s DressCamp and Singapore’s Raoul among others. Hugo Boss’ Fall-Winter 2011 Collection has been slated for the opening day and is likely to be the big-ticket event of this fashion week. Italian label Canali will be showcasing their designs on 2 April. This too should prove a popular show.

However, as with other fashion weeks, it is never just about the fashion. MFW 2011 will also be big on networking. Get set to spot some of the biggest names in Asian fashion at this event. In charge of the creative styling team is hairstylist David Gan, who is as much as celebrity as any of the top designers here. If you manage to get tickets to MFW 2011, also watch out for the gorgeous Taiwanese-American supermodel Philip Huang and MTV VJ Utt.
