The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony, like always, is going to be a grand affair. The star studded ceremony will be preceded by a cocktail party and followed by the awards dinner. The tradition is now twenty five years old but there is a change this time that will give the paying public an opportunity to see the whole thing up close and attend the parties as well.
The grand ceremony will take place this year on March 14 at the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel in New York. Gilt City website, which specializes in luxury services and experiences, has stepped in this year and has entered into an agreement with the Rock Hall and has created exciting packages for fans. People can buy tickets that will include admission to the March 13 rehearsal for this year’s event, at which the Alice Cooper Band, Neil Diamond, Tom Waits, Dr. John and Darlene Love are being inducted.
The ticket to the normally closed rehearsals will cost $3,500 and also give you entry to the cocktail party and dinner. If you want to skip the rehearsal but attend the party and dinner the cost of the ticket would be $2,000. Neil Young, Paul Simon, Bette Midler, Rob Zombie and John Legend are the honorees this year. Elton John will be presenting the musical excellence award. John Densmore will usher in Elektra Records founder Jac Holzman as a non-performer; and Lloyd Price will do the same for Specialty Records founder Art Rupe.
