Real Wedding Survey by The Knot comes up with Interesting Findings

Are weddings becoming fat in the US? The Knot Inc., a leading lifestyle media company along with two of the top wedding websites has found the answer.TheKnot.com and WeddingChannel.com, today released the results of its annual Real Weddings Survey, which surveyed nearly 19,000 U.S. couples married in 2010. They have prepared the report after analyzing a large data base on wedding budget, style preferences, event characteristics and other key information related to the bridal demographic.

The one most definitive conclusion of the report is that the brides continue to be committed to planning a luxurious, memorable event and are willing to spend, whatever the state of the economy. The findings of the survey suggest that 20% if the Brides spend over $30,000 on their wedding. Those spending over $40,000 account for 12% of the brides. Survey respondents represent a variety of ethnic, education and income levels, and are geographically dispersed across the country.

The study has generated large amount of statistics related to weddings and average expenses. It gives you a clear picture about the variation across regions. Most expensive weddings are held in the Manhattan area of New York at an average cost of $70,030. The least expensive are in Utah at an average cost of $13,214. According to the survey, the most popular wedding month is June. Wedding ceremonies are increasing held outdoors. And the most important finding of the survey was that the state of the economy has practically no impact on the budget of a wedding.
