I do not know what is the point of this design but Il enlighten you about it anyway. I am talking about Syd Mead’s Land Yacht. Thats right, a Land Yacht! The interesting bit is that it has been commissioned by Playboy Magazine. They think that it ill become the ultimate go-anywhere, do-anyone ride. This yacht design was actually brought out by Mead in the June 1975 edition of Playboy.
It is like the ultimate bachelor pad. This vehicle is supposed to have a central computer system that will manage all the functions of the Land Yacht so that you don’t have to worry about the driving, and can relax in the luxurious cabin and leather recliners. It would also have multiple television screens, recording cameras and also a wireless phone. And if you feel a little bored inside, you could always go to the rooftop bed.
This is how the driving controls are supposed to work: The driver will get a joystick that will control the vehicle, while the infrared cameras can give the driver the image even in the dark of the night. Though I do want to give kudos to Mead for this very futuristic design, I am not that great a fan of how this design looks.
