Holidaying aboard super yachts and mega yachts has become very popular with the celebrities. This season the A list is all holidaying in the lap of luxury on the sea. Even Prince Andrew was seen cruising around Sardinia. When we investigated the trend a bit closer to our surprise we found that in very many cases the yachts were not owned but chartered and in some cases simply borrowed from a richer friend. We decided to investigate further and here is what we found.
Victoria and David Beckham were holidaying on designer Roberto Cavalli’s super yacht which is painted in iridescent purple, green and gold. It has been loaned earlier to names like Jennifer Lopez, Maria Carey and Sharon Stone. The yacht has 15 bedrooms and every luxurious feature you can imagine on a yacht. Madonna has borrowed the super yacht Luna from the Chelsea boss Roman Abramovich though she is not using it for a pleasure cruise. She is filming her new movie W.E. on it.
Tatoosh the 300ft mega yacht is owned by Paul Allen, the co founder of Microsoft. He has loaned his boat to Paris Hilton for free though it normally costs 400,000 pounds a week. Indian Empress, the 311ft owned by Vijay Mallya is a palace on water. Heidi Klum and Seal have invited family and friends to holiday with them in St. Tropez on the yacht that can sleep 32 guests.
