You can see the entire range made of silk, suede and every other luxury material you can lay your hands on. Established labels like Givenchy and Chole have extended their track pants range and diversified into sweatpants. Some of the designers have made them so elaborate that they resemble a trouser hybrid and you can differentiate them only because of their drawstring waist or banded ankle.
Sweatpants for the Casual Look
Sweatpants had enjoyed their day under the sun in the first few years of the new century. Gela Nash Taylor and Pamela Skaist-Levy had marketed their version successfully and was adopted by celebrities like Paris Hilton and Lindsay Lohan who wanted a casual look. It was priced at around $100 and was favored by a large section of young women. But the sweatpants now seem to have grown up and is shedding its casual connotations. Givenchy’s casual pants for resort season 2013 are perhaps the most expensive in the market at $1,425. They have captured the sporty-chic trend that has become fashionable. Alexander Wang has contributed to the growth of the sweatpants trend. He’s updated the look for resort by fabricating the style in suede and priced it at $1,250. Preen has also joined the sweatpants bandwagon but paired it with a matching blazer. When paired with heels it is both sharp and athletic. The price of the sweatpants is $1,140. Alber Elbaz designed a series of relaxed, bound-at-the-ankle pants for his resort collection presented by Lanvin. The sweatpants will be available for $1,120. Thomas Maier has designed a viscose jersey tracksuit for Bottega Veneta’s resort season’s first showings. The sweatpants will cost $830.
