Balthazar of Château Margaux 2009 Is The Most Expensive Bottle of Red Wine

The high end wine merchant Les Clos is selling a Balthazar of Château Margaux 2009 with a price tag of $195,000, thus making it the most expensive bottle of red wine to be retailed till date. Les Clos is the exclusive retailer of Château Margaux Balthazar, which is available at their store at Dubai International. It is the first time that the Balthazar by Château Margaux has been bottled. This vintage is one of the best that the vintners have produced and can be aged for over a century. To understand how rare and exclusive a bottle of Balthazar is, you should know that only six have been produced, of which only half will be for sale. And all three will be sold through Les Clos.

The 12 litres of Balthazar’s birthplace was in an impressive oak case engraved with gold resting in the cellar of Château Margaux. The owner of the Balthazar will not just receive a bottle of this prized wine but will also get a vacation out of it. He or she will get to fly first class to France, where they will get a tour of the vineyard from where the wine comes from. They will also get a tour of its cellars, followed by dinner at the Château, which will be hosted by Paul Pontallier, the Chief Winemaker and Managing Director of the Château.
