Official YSL Twitter announcement by Yves Saint Laurent (YSL) this afternoon was a smack to all the blogs that reported Stefano Pilati to be leaving the French fashion house. The message made it very clear that he is going to stay and is already working on the next collection.
The blogs who reportedly published stories of Stefano Pilati to be replaced by Hedi Slimane received the response specifically. Even though some of those blogs reported the source to be an insider, the information is unreliable to say the least. Apparently, when Hedi Slimane took over he would be hiring Carine Roitfeld as a collaborator, which also was a baseless rumor.
The rumors also said that due to the low sales and low acclaim YSL is considering ending Stefano Pilati’s contract. But, this news came in during the departure of CEO Valerie Hermann, while the recent increase in sales would remove any such concerns of Pilati’s dismissal.
It seems to be a random rumor that has gone over the web and hence it is important to know where the information comes from before people even consider publishing it. With so many blogs on the web these days it seems more and more necessary to pick the right ones to read as well.
