Bank of America Corp. would be selling two of Wyeth paintings to generate around $1 million plus to support three New York-based nonprofit groups counting a parks restoration project originated by Bette Midler. The art work includes N.C. Wyeth’s “Port Clyde, Maine” ($600,000-top) and other by his son Andrew “The New Table,” ($350,000-second from top).
Recognized as the second-largest U.S. bank, it will put four-paintings to the Sotheby’s auction block from its huge art collection on 28 Nov.
The other two paintings include Oscar Berninghaus’s “Opening the West (Stagecoach Through the Missouri Hills-third from top)” and William Trost Richards’s “Newport Beach”. Each of these is anticipated to produce sales of $250,000 (featured below).
