Just the name Plaza Hotel conjures up a world of luxury and comfort in our minds. Now, the name will also bring to mind a perfume! Yes, last month, this landmark New York City hotel situated on the enviable location of Central Park South, came up with its own eau de parfum, quite aptly named The Plaza. This scent has been created exclusively for the hotel by a fifth-generation New York City-based fragrance house, Krigler.
This launch is in line with the latest trend that has come up, where luxury hotels have started customizing their bath collections and creating special scents for their lobbies. Now they even have a signature body perfume.
“We wanted to create a modern fragrance that appeals to the senses and characteristics that the Plaza Hotel embodies: grace, beauty, elegance and style,†said Kristin Franzese, executive vice president of retail. She also said that the hotel also has its special linens and bath robes, which the guests take as souvenir.
The scent, also available as a soap ($18) or candle ($65), has hints of bergamot, grapefruit and iris, with undertones that include amber and leather. It is sold exclusively at the hotel’s store, Plaza Beauty, for $95 for a 1.7-ounce bottle.
