The Mother Of Pearl Touch For Superyachts

The use of expensive materials to furnish superyacht interiors is not anything new, but the latest creation by Alvaro de Ferranti makes us stand and notice. The stone and ceramic expert has used the mother of pearl to come up with a luxury material which is not only a huge hit for bathroom interiors but also surfaces cloakrooms and bedrooms.

The beautiful mosaics in reference come in different patterns like the fish sale with decorative brass pins and the white mother-of-pearl with contrasting abalone shell and a basket-weave pattern.

Ferranti admits that his work is indeed luxurious and if used smartly it can cut costs. For example, mother of pearl can be incorporated into the flooring for the rich touch. After all, cabochons and linear borders work well with that much-sought-after look of decadence without costing a fortune.

Mother of pearl can also be inlaid into marble and limestone in relief patterns or as glittering highlights. Apparently, an entire bath area was done up in micro mosaics of mother of pearl and the effect was gorgeous! Fresh water shell design is also catching up with interior yacht interiors.
