The Guys At Wimmer Fine Tune Porsche’s GT2

We like those who do not settle even for the best. For example, the folks at Wimmer Racing Technology. This German tuning firm has the courage to take Porsche’s top-of-the-line GT2 a level up than it is right now. Yes, it is rather hard to believe that such a huge car brand would need improvisations. But the Wimmer engineers have proven that by tinkering the electronics and replacing the twin turbochargers, as well as the camshafts, cylinder heads and exhaust system, they can do wonders to this already oh-so-wonderful car.

As a result of Wimmer’s effort, 911 is giving an overall output of a stratospheric 680 horsepower with a torque of 642 lb-ft. Equipped with so much power, the car can accelerate up to 60 mph in just 3.4 seconds, giving top speed of 221 miles per hour.

The Wimmer guys have even worked on a carbon-fiber body kit and retuned suspension on the impressive 21″ wheels. Quite a laudable endeavor, we must say. You need to pay an extra $40K with the GT2 price tag of $191,700.
