The Contemporary Looking Coop, The Nogg

Apparently urban chicken keeping has become a new trend these days. I mean why not, considering they will provide you with eggs and will serve as a pet as well. The only problem is the hygiene. And so to make sure that your garden looks lovely, and you get to keep the chickens without being messy and ugly, I bring to you “The Nogg”. Shaped like an egg, this coop can accommodate 2-3 chickens in an aesthetic manner. This coop has been designed by Matthew Hayward, a furniture designer and engineer and Creative Director Nadia Turan.

“It is a great example of how a random thought became a reality when a number of friends and relatives were excited about keeping chickens. It was upsetting to all of us how ugly, badly constructed and rudimentary the chicken coops were. It sparked a debate as to why we should be lumbered with an eyesore in our gardens. We decided to come up with an alternative chicken coop and a brand that would surprise and delight you just as much as those first fresh eggs will. It wasn’t long before we thought of the shape and design details and after an arduous, stressful year the Nogg (prototype 01A) hatched.”

The Nogg is made of wood that is scented and naturally antibacterial. Plus the stainless steel trimming, locks & fasteners and the elevated glass dome give this nogg coop a contemporary feel and make it reassuringly safe and durable at the same time. Check out their website for more details.
