TAG Heuer likes to play with the favorites. And we mean in a good way. Looking at the popularity of its most coveted Silverstone Chronograph, the Swiss watchmaker has decided to give a refreshed taste of the same to its loyalists and potential customers. Let us remind you that the watch in question was first introduced back in 1974. It emulated the curvature of the famous English racing track and so earned the name. In fact, one look at its cushion cut-shaped case and you know it’s a stylish Silverstone.
The original Silverstone timepiece worked with the Chronomatic Clabire 11, which is known to be the first self-winding automatic chronograph that has a micro rotor. Stylists and the fashionables alike were smitten by the revolutionary movement of the watch which really has been unparalleled all these years.
Coming to the present, we hear that the new Silverstones with a perforated alligator strap and an updated Calibre 11 movement will be launched with only 1500 examples. You can choose from brown and blue colorways. The new watch also has a Dubois-Depraz module. The price tag reads $6,500.
