Swiss Hotelier Offers Luxury ‘Covid-19’ Quarantine Packages

A swiss hotelier started an innovative luxury package for wealthy clients who wish to quarantine and relax in style. The “Covid-19” package offers high-end quarantine apartments with medical services, meal delivery, including virus tests.

As the covid19 pandemic continues to surge across the world, many hotels are experiencing a dip in sales. Governments telling its citizens to stay home, avoid traveling and observe social distancing, has even forced Airlines to cut down flights. With the hospitality industry, one of the hardest-hit sectors has all but shut down, one hotelier has decided to fight.

Le Bijou Hotel & Resort, a high-end Swiss hotel, and a part serviced apartment have decided to fight the decline in revenues. For Le Bijou, launching the Covid-19 service aimed for clients that wish to quarantine in comfort and style is one way to fight. The unique and customizable package provides guests with a variety of advantages such as auto check-in and check-out, which minimize interaction with hotel staff.

The service includes an add-on such as in-room medical services provided by an on-call doctor and nurse care by Double Check, a private health clinic in Switzerland. These services are available in Le Bijou’s Bern, Basel, Lucerne, Geneva, Zurich, and Zug hotels. The on-room medical services include $500 coronavirus testing, $4,800 24/7 nurse care, or $1,800 twice-daily nurse check-in.

All quarantine apartments can be operated without the assistance of any staff, including for check-in and check-out. So, clients can remain fully isolated. The units are available for about $822 a day, according to Alexander Hubner, the co-founder, and CEO of Le Bijou Hotel & Resort Management AG.

Since the introduction of the Covid19 service, the luxury hotel has received inquiries and even bookings. There are 42 units altogether, and about 50 percent are already occupied by guests at the moment, as said by Hubner.
