Savoir Beds, the British mattress maker have come out with a limited edition version of their Royal Beds. It is said that you should not compromise while buying a shoe or a bed because you are either in your shoe or in your bed. Savoir Beds goes a step further as their MD says, ‘it is an investment that pays off every morning’. Their Royal Bed is considered the best of the best and occupies the pride of place in the Royal Suite of the Savoy Hotel, one of the most expensive hotel suites in the world, across all luxury hotels. The new edition of the bed which is supposed to have a limited production run of only 60 pieces was unveiled at Kensington Place in London.
The Most Expensive Bed is Fit for Royalty
The limited edition Royal Beds would by far be the most expensive beds as they carry a price tag of $175,000. The bed represents luxury in the true sense of the word. The name is also fully justified as the bed is truly fit for royalty. The material used and the manner in which it is made is quite different from other regular mattresses. It is made from curled Latin American horse tail, filled with Mongolian cashmere. And then the whole thing is covered in almost 1,600 miles of woven silk. If you unfolded all of it would stretch from New York to Miami and nearly back again. Can you possibly imagine that much of silk in a bed?
The Royal Bed is Guaranteed to Last You for 25 Years
The handmade beds require over 700 man hours to make. They are made according to the client’s specifications. Even the firmness of each side of the bed can be modified according to the preference of the client. And Savoir Beds has tied up with the Royal School of Needlework to personalize their beds by putting their name or the family crest on the bed. If you are looking for the best then you should be prepared to pay for it. The Royal Bed is guaranteed to last you for 25 years or more. Only the mattress topper will need to be replaced every five years at a cost between $5,000 and $10,000. If you find the price exorbitant you can go for their second line of affordable mattresses priced at $70,000.
