Once the alternative to the picture tube was found and it became possible to mount a television on the wall the race to make it thinner is on in real earnest. The manufacturers and their research and development departments are focused on working towards the ultimate in thinness. Just when you think that you have created the thinnest television someone else comes up with a thinner product. The newly launched C9000 3D LED TV from Samsung Electronic Co. Ltd. is perhaps the thinnest at the moment in the market. We will have to wait and see who comes up with a thinner model next.
The new feature with the television, which is the first in the world, is the touch screen remote control. The stainless steel frame may not be called innovative but the company press release calls it a bezel. The speakers are embedded in the frame and add to the sleek look of the television.
Samsung has introduced a special offer for the Singapore market. They are offering the world’s first 3D Blu Ray player, the Samsung BD-C6900, as well as two pairs of adult-sized rechargeable 3D glasses and two pairs of child-sized rechargeable 3D glasses free with the television for a limited period of time. The 55 inch new LED TV by Samsung is available at select stores.
