Have you ever seen a bat talking? Yah, seen and not heard! The news is that Ricky Pontings’s bat lately invited bids at the auction organized by by ING-Vysya Bank for charity programmes in the city on 3 October.
The amount generated was supposed to contribute to the noble cause. Initially, Ponting’s autographed photographs fetched around Rs3.20 lakhs, followed by his autographed bat that generated a whopping sum of Rs5 lakh.
And the blessed owner of the bat is Hyderabad-based person named Rajesh. It seems this was not enough, thus another bat signed by all the Australian cricketers fetched another Rs7 lakh with Srinivas winning the bid.
Something more for the under-privileged children who were the cause of organizing these charity programmes. With every run scored by Ponting in the lasting one-dayers of the on-going seven-match series, ING-Vysya Bank charity has guaranteed to adopt one special child.
