Rare Pictures of the Rat Pack Published for the First Time

The Rat Pack caught the popular imagination of those around their time. And why not? Frank Sinatra and his band of brothers that included Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr., Joey Bishop and Lawford had it all- the name , fame, money and not to forget the women. But that was all superficial. Getting a glimpse into their private life was something, which only those closest to them could dream of. But the ordinary mortals like us can get a glimpse of this life from a series of pictures that weren’t printed till now.

Quite aptly and simply titled as “The Rat Pack”, Reel Art Press has brought out a limited edition volume consisting of a huge collection of visual footnotes from the lives of these stars. These pictures are taken by Bob Willoughby, Sid Avery, Ted Allen, Bernie Abramson and a few others in their inner circle.  One can amuse ourselves by looking at shots of Sinatra partying with Marilyn Monroe and Spencer Tracy, cracking jokes with mobsters and having dinner with President John F. Kennedy.

The collection also includes photos of Sinatra with Lauren Bacall, who by the way coined the “Rat Pack” phrase for Sinatra’s friends. RAP co-founder Tony Nourmand said: “They’re not posed shots. It’s the same as you going to your friend’s house, taking out your iPhone and taking shots of people who were sitting around.” You will have to shell out $650 for the Masters Edition and $1,650 for the Deluxe Edition.
