PUMA the Sportlifestyle company is going about the succession on top in a very systematic and professional manner. Franz Koch is designated to replace Jochen Zeitz as the CEO of the company as it transforms itself into a European Corporation. Zeitz has been the CEO of the corporation for the last 18 years and had initiated the succession plan three years ago. Koch (32) graduated in Business Administration from Leipzig Graduate School of Management and holds a Masters Degree in Commerce from the University of Sydney.
Koch joined Puma in 2007 as Global Strategic Planner with rich experience of working for International Management consultancies behind him. He has been credited with developing PUMA’s long term sustainability program and the five year growth strategy “Back on the Attack 2011-15â€. Subsequent to the announcement of his elevation to the top post Koch has joined the PUMA Board of Management as the Chief Strategic Officer. Koch is currently based in Herzogenaurach.
After conversion to a European corporation the company will be called PUMA SE and present CEO Jochen Zeitz will become the Executive Chairman of the one-tier PUMA SE Board. This will ensure a smooth transition to the next phase of development as both Zeitz and Koch has been working in close co-operation in the last few years on strategic planning and sustainable development. Zeitz has also been given the responsibility of heading the Sport & Lifestyle Group PPR and also operate as Chief Sustainability Officer.

Good to see that both leaders, the ex & future CEO, are somehow related to sustainability! I hope that this will have an impact on the overall strategy of Puma.
