Online shopping is great but the one very big problem is that you cannot try out the things that you want to buy. For me that is a big issue, because I can never make up my mind until and unless I have tried out the thing, especially if it is something like clothes or jewellery. But thanks to the burgeoning technology, that wont be a problem anymore. Confused? There is this technology called the augmented reality technology that allows you to see yourself wearing the things that you are interested in buying.
French jewellers, Boucheron are trying out this technology on their website. This is how it works. First you need a computer, a webcam, and a piece of paper. Then you need to install the relevant programme, take a print out of the ring that you are interested in. Then cut out the outline of this ring and then put it on your finger and then place it in front of the camera. Due to the application that you downloaded, the image will be automatically transferred on your screen and you will be able to see a picture of your wearing that ring on your computer!
Tissot also tried out a similar app on its virtual website where users could see themselves watching a watch by placing their hands infront of the screen. Well this technology surely offers an opportunity to transform the online shopping experience.
