The queues for cabs at the airport are rarely inviting. And then again, it is hardly a luxurious ride. Things are set to change as Avis India, the premium car rental service provider, has started the Limousine Airport Transfer in a Mercedes E Class. This includes not only airport transfers but also daylong business usage within the city. The luxury car rental package will be made available in Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Chennai, Bangalore and Hyderabad. The half business day package costs Rs 3,000 for 4 hours and 40 kilometres while the full business day package costs Rs 4,500 for 8 hours and 80 kilometres.
The CEO of Avis India, Sunil Gupta, said that the company had been looking at introducing Mercedes-like luxury at “a very interesting price”. Gupta added that the new service would provide the company’s passengers with luxurious service while also allowing them to better manage their time at affordable prices. He added that the company that rented out luxury cars was involved in creating “innovative and best-in-class” services to its customers.
It works like this. You head to the Avis India website, select “Mercedes Limo Transfer” and enter the affiliation code, “MLT007”. There are no hidden costs – the price is inclusive of service tax, parking, toll and VAT.
Each of the luxury cars on offer come with route maps, GPS technology and destination guides. Plus, each of the vehicles have complete insurance and a rent-a-cab license. Avis cars are available for city tours and outstation trips as well. You could also book a self-driven car on a daily, weekly or monthly basis.
