Named After The Corryvreckan Whirlpool, This Malt Justifies It’s Inspiration

If a liquor is named after one of the largest whirlpools in the world, what is one to expect? Well, sip on the new single malt Corryvreckan from the house of Ardbeg and decide for yourself. As you must have guessed, the whiskey borrows its name form the famous whirlpool that rocked a part of the Gulf of Corryvreckan running between the islands of Jura and Scarba on the west coast of Scotland.

We are told that with strength of 57 per cent, this whiskey is heady to say the least. It’s flavor and effect is both intense and powerful. And why not for it was left to mature in French oak casks! Ardbeg had released only 5,000 preview bottles in 2008 and now it is deciding on a follow of up with some from September 21 onwards. The price tag reads £60.

Malt experts have already given their approval to the aggressive tones of coal tar, damp kiln, anise and smoked seaweed mixed beautifully with a range of fruits as well as chocolate, espresso, molasses, bacot fat, kalamata olive and warming cinnamon in the finishing.
