Museum of Flight in Seattle Builds a Space Gallery

The Museum of Flight in Seattle will be opening their new Space Gallery, where they expect a Space Shuttle to be housed. However, NASA still has not decided which museum will receive the 3 shuttles that NASA has decided to keep in museums.

The space shuttles are Enterprise, Endeavor and Atlantis. The Space Gallery cost $12 million to build and it was designed by the acclaimed SRG Partnership. It comes with a glass facade and at night you could see the space shuttle as it would be lit brightly. In the museum, you would also get to see exhibits which tell you the stories of those involved in the space industry like the visionaries, designers, pilots, and crews of the Space Shuttle.

It would be amazing for any museum to get one of the 3 shuttles, as people would be able to see what a Space Shuttle looks like. It might prove to be a white elephant for the museum curators but it would be an investment in the long run, for people would certainly pay to visit a museum that houses a real space shuttle. The Space Gallery would be opened next week.
