This October at the 2010 TFWA World Exhibition, Luxury brand Montblanc unveiled a number of new writing instruments and watches. Two of them were designed specifically to pay tribute to music and watch legends. Montblanc has created the Donation Pen with the aim of paying tribute to music legends and for helping young musicians . A part of the pen’s proceeds goes towards supporting contemporary art and music.
The pen’s barrel has grooves chiseled into the black resin to create the feeling of old vinyl records. The John Lennon Special Edition tries to evoke the musical genres of the 1950s and 1960s. The platinum-plated clip is inspired by a guitar head, complete with tuning pegs and finely etched strings on the neck. John Lennon’s self portrait is engraved on a platinum plated plaque at the focal point of the writing instrument.
To honor the memory of Nicolas Rieussec, who invented a revolutionary device with two rotating discs beneath an ink-filled tip that left a mark on the dials to indicate the finishing times in a horse race, Montblanc has created a chronograph Montblanc Nicolas Rieussec. It is a modern adaptation of the self-winding Montblanc Calibre MB R200.
