The famous Michelin Guide has earned quite a few feathers on its guide cap. We are gonna talk Japan here. The much trusted hand book has been really helpful in exploring with the tourist and leading him/her to the finest eateries of Tokyo, Osaka and Kyoto. And now, it has decided to discover what three more Japanese cities have to offer.
Among the new destinations, Yokohama and Kamakura will get added to the 2011 edition of the Michelin Guide Tokyo. As for the third one, Kobe, it will get added to the Kyoto-Osaka guide. The director of Michelin Guides, Jean-Luc Naret, was heard saying that the three new cities are characteristic of interesting culinary delights.
From what we hear, inspectors based in the country have been busy exploring the three cities since mid 2009. In fact, last year had Michelin Guide announce Tokyo as the world capital of three star restaurants. It scored 11 such points in the 2010 edition as against the 10 by Paris. Let us tell you that under Michelin Guide’s rules, one star signifies “very good” cooking quality, two stars mean “excellent” and three stars “exceptional”.
