Manolo Blahnik Collaborates with Marcia Patmos to make Eco-Friendly Shoes

Manolo Blahnik is a very respected name when it comes to shoes and top notch designers. His spiked creations have adorned the feet of big name celebrities and the likes of Sarah Jessica Parker who have been known as fashion icons who set new trends. Manolo Blahnik is also going green and has become eco-friendly with his latest design. His latest design is a collaborative effort. He has got together with designer Maria Patmos for creating a special line of eco-friendly shoes for the spring. It is the materials used for the shoes that make the line different from others available for the season. Like eco-friendly clothing we might witness a trend of eco-friendly shoes.

The new line of shoes have been made entirely of discarded tilapia skins, cork and raffia. The shoes, rather sandals for spring have been made in two styles. One of them is a sophisticated open-toed pump and the other is a double-strap flat. The shoes are available in a combination of colors. The bright looking shoes are available in electric blue, black, ecru, and fluorescent yellow. The line is easily the best from Marcia Patmos with Manolo Blahnik stamp on it.

It is a bold move on the part of Manolo Blahnik as people did not expect eco-friendly shoes from him. But don’t expect the shoes to be inexpensive just because they are made from discarded skin. The sandals are made from old fish parts but have been priced at $895 a pair. Unfortunately, Sex and the City is not on air anymore, or else the new design of shoes would have got a mention by Sarah Jessica Parker on the show.
