Louis Vuitton is ready to launch a new World Series of sailing in collaboration with the World Sailing Team Association (WSTA). Known as the Louis Vuitton World Series, the regatta would be held at Nice, France, in November of this year. Already eight racing teams from France, Italy, Russia, Sweden, and USA have signed up and even more teams are expected to join the event.
The Louis Vuitton Cup is no stranger to the world of yacht sailing and has been associated with the America’s Cup for a couple decades. The LV World Series team will participate with identical twin boats in an attempt to imitate match racing. The winner of the Louis Vuitton World Series Would no doubt gain as enviable a position as those who have won the Louis Vuitton Cup and the America’s Cup over the past years.
