Danny Bahar, the Chief Executive Officer of the British sports car maker Lotus has been persistent with his stated intentions of reviving the carmaker and launching models using its historic racing pedigree. There are five new models in the pipeline, but with the amount of work involved in a new development the cars are not expected to arrive before 2014. In the mean time Danny is busy building a retail merchandise brand like he did for Ferrari earlier.
They had first shown some items in the Paris Auto Show and since then have come up with a few rugged items, like leather jackets, polo shirts, sweaters and leather goods. The line named Lotus Originals intends to capture the true spirit of the iconic British brand with its range of apparels and accessories. They are not targeting the car enthusiasts alone but hope to appeal to a much broader audience.
The luxurious collection will be officially launched in the month of February this year to coincide with the London Fashion Week. All the items in the collection will be retailed online initially. Their flagship retail store is scheduled to open by the end of the year in London. Lotus Originals lifestyle accessories range will also be available for retail along with the apparel. Apart from wallets and belts hand crafted luggage made from tan leather and light weight canvas is also part of the range.
