Lingerie Brand Triumph Celebrates its 125th Anniversary with a Vintage Collection

It was in the year 1886 that Michael Braun, who had a flourishing business as a merchant in Germany, had got together with corset maker Johann Gottfried Spiesshofer to float a firm, Triumph, that became the first in the world to make a bra for women commercially. It was a revolutionary step and created a line of business that has grown consistently over the last 125 years. It started off as a tiny corset factory in Southern Germany and in 125 years has grown to be the world’s leading lingerie brand that had surprised everyone with the Swarovski Crystal-Studded Corset.

It had started with six sewing machines and six employees and over the years it has gone global with a total of 37,500 employees spread over 120 countries. The best part is that the firm is still being managed by the families of the two founders. The first design of the bra from 1886 might look primitive today as it is basically a wire cage to hold the breasts in place. It was called the Bust Improver. To give it a feminine touch the designers had added two bows tied onto the cup.

Triumph International is getting ready to commemorate their long history with the launch of a limited edition collection of vintage inspired corsets, bras and knickers. The collection has been created to celebrate the styling of the past. The vintage styles have been made more comfortable through the use of modern technology. Triumph is known for bringing in cutting edge fabrics and fit technology. Their Vintage Collection has retro styling with lace body dress and corsets. They have all been priced beyond 100 Pounds.
