Lamborghini keeps its 50th anniversary plans under wraps

The world famous Lamborghini brand was started by Ferruccio Lamborghini way back in 1963. Owner of a tractor company, Lamborghini ventured into the business of high-performance cars. And the rest as they say is history. The Lamborghini brand is now synonymous with the best of the breed when it comes to luxury sports cars. Since its 50th anniversary is coming up in 2013, rumours are that the brand will be bringing out a special car for the occasion.

That isn’t all too surprising as they have always brought out special models to celebrate previous anniversaries. For their 25th anniversary, they brought out the Countach, and for the 40th anniversary, Murcielago was unveiled. That being said, nobody has a clue what this could be. They have already replaced the Murcielago with the ‘Aventador’ LP700-4, which will be unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show in March this year.

The Gallardo, their other model will also be long overdue for a redesign till 2013. They might bring out a limited edition of the Sesto Elemento concept car strictly for track use and kept as exclusive as models such as the Reventon. Though Lamborghini has not said anything on the issue, but needless to say, they wont let such a historic milestone go by uncelebrated.
