Movie memorabilia are a sure fire hit at auctions. If it is associated with a cult movie or an iconic star then the valuations can go awry and sky is the limit as far as pricing is concerned. There are movie buffs and collectors who are willing to pay anything to get their hands on a particular piece of movie memorabilia. The Superman costume or Darth Vader costume are a valuable addition to any collection. The science fiction movies have a great impact on the viewers and they often leave a mark on an entire generation. The sci-fi memorabilia thus have a greater pull and have rather high valuations.

Movie Memorabilia for The Hunger Games

The Hunger Games is another big name science fiction movie that is driving the memorabilia market. The superhero costumes are useful for Halloween and have a value only because of its association with a particular popular movie. But the Katniss Everdeen dress has value because it is capable of triggering a fashion trend. The dress is in tune with the latest fashion trends. It is but natural as the dress has been designed by Calvin Klein’s house. The fashion house’s creative director is also responsible for designing Jennifer Lawrence’s plunging green shift that she wore for the film’s New York premier.

The Katniss Dress by Calvin Klein

The creative director also released a Dress after ‘Katniss’ in Calvin Klein’s SS12 show. It is a stunning apricot silk-crepe dress and it has become available for sale on the net-a-porter site for $5,000. The dress does not have the deep pink or red shades that one associates with the flames that one expected at the bottom. Experts recommend that in case you are planning to buy one you could add a few gold accents to enhance the look of the dress and wear it with ankle strap sandals. The character of Katniss has been developed on the bassis of Mattel’s Katniss Everdeen Barbie.

This Barbie doll comes with a miniature bow and arrow, forest-tromping boots and a braid down her back. Jennifer Lawrence’s look in the movie The Hunger Games has been created on the same lines by designer Bill Greening. The largest memorabilia, if one can use the term, from that movie was the Henry River mill Village near Hildebran, which served as the home of protagonist Katniss Everdeens’ in the movie and it has gone up for sale for $1.4 million.
