One of the foremost names in the field of luxury helicopters, Augusta Westland has now announced that the company will be adding more luster to its luxury helicopter portfolio as it will be collaborating with the globally renowned fashion guru, Karl Lagerfeld. This latest partnership in the realm of luxury aviation is aimed at providing the customers with a bespoke experience in one of the most popular Augusta helicopters, the AW139 model which has been widely acknowledged for its high performance figures as well as durability. The AW139 was initially a joint venture between Augusta Westland and Bell Helicopter, where in the helicopter was designated as the AW149 and was primarily designed as medium-lift military helicopter. However, with the withdrawal of Bell Helicopters from the project, the helicopter was renamed to Augusta Westland AW139.
Karl Lagerfeld, who has maintained a firm grip over the world of fashion with his creativity and association with the luxury fashion brand, Chanel, will now be applying his genius to the Augusta Westland AW139 helicopter. Powered by twin Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6C-67C turboshaft engine, producing an astounding 1,531 hp, this luxury helicopter is capable of achieving a top speed of 193 mph, while featuring a maximum service ceiling of 20,000 feet. The helicopter is capable of accommodating up to 15 passengers, along with a crew of two and stand 45 feet in length, with a main rotor diameter of 45 feet. With a maximum range of 573 miles and a rate of climb that stands at 2,140 feet per minute, the Augusta Westland is without a doubt of the most high performance helicopters that besides its military applications is also best suited for personal and corporate use.  Â
